Door Lock Repair and Replacement Singapore

Singapore Handyman · July 17, 2026 ·

Door Lock Repair and Replacement in Singapore

A faulty door lock can affect your security, privacy and daily routine. Whether your key is difficult to turn, the handle feels loose or the lock no longer catches properly, Singapore Handyman Service provides reliable door lock repair and replacement across Singapore.

With 15 years of practical experience, our technicians inspect the lock, door and frame before recommending the most suitable solution. In many cases, the problem may be caused by worn internal parts, loose screws or poor door alignment rather than the entire lock.

Door Locks We Repair and Replace

We work with many common residential and commercial locking systems, including:

  • Main-door locks
  • Bedroom and room-door locks
  • HDB cylindrical and round-knob locks
  • Condominium and commercial casement locks
  • Gate locks
  • Glass-door locks
  • Cabinet and drawer locks
  • Key cylinders and door handles
  • Selected pocket and sliding-door locks

Replacement parts depend on the existing lock model, door design and availability.

Common Door Lock Problems

As a handyman, I regularly attend to locks that have become difficult to use because of age, frequent use or door movement.

Common problems include:

  • Keys that are difficult to insert or turn
  • Loose or damaged handles
  • Locks that do not latch properly
  • Doors that can only lock when pushed or lifted
  • Broken key cylinders
  • Jammed internal mechanisms
  • Misaligned locks and strike plates
  • Rusted or worn gate locks
  • Damaged cabinet locks
  • Lost keys requiring lock replacement

Before replacing anything, we check whether adjustment or repair is possible. This can help avoid unnecessary replacement costs. We provide various door repair services and is a one stop solution for our customer.

Folding and Sliding Door Repair Services in Singapore

Is your folding or sliding door difficult to open, noisy, misaligned or unable to lock properly? At Singapore Handyman Service, we provide reliable folding and sliding door repair services across Singapore for residential and commercial properties.

We do various door repair. With 15 years of hands-on experience, our local and Malaysian technicians can inspect the door, identify the cause of the problem and recommend a practical repair. We work on balcony doors, patio doors, kitchen partitions, room dividers, commercial folding doors and selected pocket sliding-door systems and swing door repairs.

Common Folding and Sliding Door Problems

Folding and sliding doors save space because they move along a track instead of swinging outward. However, these doors depend heavily on rollers, tracks, guides and locking mechanisms. When one component wears out or moves out of position, the entire door may become difficult to operate.

We commonly repair:

  • Worn or damaged top and bottom rollers
  • Bent, loose or damaged sliding-door tracks
  • Doors that are difficult to slide or fold
  • Doors that scrape against the floor or frame
  • Misaligned folding and sliding panels
  • Faulty locking mechanisms and handles
  • Doors that do not close or lock smoothly
  • Broken or damaged glass panels
  • Pocket sliding doors that become stuck
  • Noisy or jerky door movement

Roller, Track and Alignment Repair

Damaged rollers are one of the most common causes of sliding and folding-door problems. The door may feel unusually heavy, move unevenly or come off its track.

We will check the condition of the rollers, tracks and surrounding frame before replacing any parts. This is important because a locking problem may actually be caused by poor alignment rather than a faulty lock.

Where suitable replacement parts are available, we can replace damaged rollers, repair or replace the track and realign the door so that it moves more smoothly.

Sliding Door Lock and Glass Repair

A sliding-door lock must line up accurately with the receiving section on the frame. Even a small alignment difference can prevent the door from locking correctly.

We inspect the locking mechanism, handle, door position and frame before recommending repair or replacement. We can also assist with selected broken-glass replacement jobs, depending on the door design and panel condition.

Why Choose Singapore Handyman Service?

Customers choose us for:

Swing Door Repair Services

Singapore Handyman · July 16, 2026 · Leave a Comment

The main type of swing door that are used in Singapore are wooden swing door, which is what we see in our homes such as our main door and room doors. In commercial areas, glass swing door are more commonly seen to create an open space concept.

We are a one stop solution for our client as we specialise in various type of door repair services.

Wooden Swing Door

A wooden swing door are in most cases supported by a 4inch or 5inch hinge. Issues usually arise when the hinge are old and starting to warp or loosen. Another issue is the fact that wood can expand and warp over time.

The benefits of a wooden door is that there are more options for repair than compared to other material. Which is why it is still one of the preferred material for doors.

Common issue for wooden swing doors includes alignment, where your door suddenly have to be forced to shut or the door lock malfunction

Glass Swing Door

A glass swing door on the other hand is usually supported by glass hinges or a pivot system. A pivot system is as seen in the photo to the right where the glass has no visible hinges and the system is on the floor and ceiling.

This is more commonly seen in commercial buildings. For residential places, this system is usually used for areas such as the study room.

On the other hand we have the hinge system glass door which is more commonly used in the restrooms as a divider between the dry and wet area.

It is connected to another glass or to the wall and would usually come in a pair unless the size of the glass is on the larger side (above 7 feet), than would there be 3 or even 4 of such hinges on a glass door.
